So you've got yourself a seat at the Council. Congratulations, old friend.

Since Master Yoda resumed his seat when we were Senior Padawans, I know how troublesome the life of a Councilor is. You deserve it. Oh well, you hung out enough at our place to know yourself.

Looking back I think those years were the closest thing to a normal life we ever had. Remember when the green troll lectured us on appropriate bed sizes and sleeping arrangements for Padawans in the final stage of training? I am still grateful Master Narys allowed you to practically move in with us. And I am glad we didn't move into our own apartment, despite Yoda's constant complaints about twice as much lazy Padawan lounging around. The domestic routine certainly was fun.

We were a good team, you and I. Our record for Gwirll is still unbroken, we still lead the high scores. Though the margin is getting thinner. Turgo and Kalif are a good team too, have you seen them play? They are amazing. And beautiful. No wonder we always had such an audience. They'll break our record soon, I'm sure. And they certainly would kick our asses if we met them on the field today. We're getting old, my friend. We can't spend every free minute in the practice hall anymore. Well, I guess we could, but it wouldn't be enough free minutes to get us back into the shape we were then anyway.

With you on the Council and Alina not far from her trials our days as swashbuckling Senior Padawans and fearless young Knights are truly over, aren't they. Alina sends her best wishes as well. She says you owe her a bottle of Hrom and a sparring session now. I take it you lost a bet with her. And although she won't tell me the particulars, I have my suspicions what that bet was about. I know you, both of you. And I tell you, my friend, I could still race you down the Temple corridors. Anytime.

Though as Alina's Master I have to have a stern word with you. Engaging her into a bet about her trials just so you can have the better of me. She'll make a formidable Knight soon enough. And Hrom of all things. You are insufferable, Mace. Makes me wonder what I ever saw in you.

I haven't forgotten, Mace. Though I sometimes wonder why I left.

But I'm sure you'll remind me next time we meet. Councillor.

You are aware that we are enemies now, aren't you, now that you are one of them? Knowing you, you probably just took that seat to annoy me. Think you can boss me around now? Think again.

Seriously, old friend, I am happy for you and I wish I could be there to celebrate with you.

We will next time I'm at the Temple for more than just the few hours between mission reports and new mission briefings. Maybe you can arrange a couple of days off for Alina and me. Oh well, in a couple of months we'll have to be taken off from constant rotation anyway, because Alina will be ready to prepare for her trials then. How fast she grew up. She'll be a formidable Knight.

We will celebrate soon. And if there is enough time, maybe we can invite Knights Turgo and Kalif for a match of Gwirll. If we're lucky they have mercy and are easy on a respectable Councillor and his old mate.

Congratulations again.
