Because there were questions on the difference between Alternate Reality (AR) stories and Alternate Universe (AU) stories, here is my pocket definition. If the story takes place within the Star Wars universe, then it is Alternate Universe. If the boys are in another time or place (ex. pop singers in the 20th century or master/slave in ancient Rome) then it is an Alternate Reality. Suggestions or refinements to the definition are always welcome.
