Author's Notes: I immediately became inspired to work on this fic again after a bit of a respite, and turn it into an mpreg and series, after reading Clara Swift and Elocin Oco's wonderful "Outside of Time" Q/O series. Thank you for your inspiration. Since I'm not an expert, I made up the planet names and other intricacies so, don't get mad at me. I have yet to use a beta - I take responsibility for all grammatical errors; my spell and grammar checkers can only go so far. My apologies. This fic has been categorized as AU due to the fact that Anakin is 17 years old and it does not fit into any particular prequel-era timeline. However, the major characters of that era are present. This fic is the 1st in a ? part series.

Chapter I: Arrival

The blankets of sleep comfortably enveloped the young Padawan Learner, Anakin Skywalker as another tough day of adventurous training with his Master finally came to a pleasant close for the seventeen-year-old aspiring Jedi Knight. The day had started out pleasantly enough, with the usual Force Exercises in a secluded sector of the Jedi Temple - Anakin and his Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi had fed off of each other's energy exceedingly well during their morning exercises - but like the headstrong young man he was, Anakin went off in search of the one thing he loved more than anything: racing at breakneck speed in his specially modified speeder deep within the dark underworld of Coruscant. But Anakin's love of speed and freedom was not all fun and games to Obi-Wan, who had been the butt of many of his Padawan's sudden rampant cravings for adventure and search for trouble. And like many of the days Master Kenobi had spent with his apprentice, the day had ended with the usual scoldings, pleading, laughter and brief moment of advice to his cunning, but loyal and caring Padawan.

As young Anakin slept in his quarters inside of the Jedi Temple, a sudden chill shrouded his body. His eyes closed tighter, his arms drawing up to hug himself from underneath the blankets that felt like nothing but the coldest of glaciers against his bare and cool chest. The young man shifted sharply to one side, his Padawan braid smacked his cheek as he moved. Blankets wrapped around his legs like snakes, his breathing quickened with his fast and shifting movements from one side to the other. "No... No don't. .." Anakin's breathless, struggling plea floated on deaf ears and quickly became swallowed by the silence of his room. A quick swallowing of that lump of fear in his throat, then, "Master...don't let her..." gasped the Padawan, his hands pulling the covers from his body. The cool, harsh air bit at his smooth chest one last time before he came to a frightened sitting position in his bed which was all but taken by his frame and yet, seemed to empty and desolate to him for some unknown reason. With his chest heaving and lungs burning with the cool air, Anakin tried to focus on something calming in his room. Something, anything that would take his mind away from the fear he felt crawling through his skin. But the darkness of his room proved to be naturally unforgiving to the distressed Anakin Skywalker. It was then the young man leaped from off his bed and on his feet, hoping his legs would take him to somewhere away from his demons of the night.

If anything good and calm came from the hellish night of past for Anakin, it was definitely the soothing presence of his Master, Obi-Wan, the one-time Padawan to the rebellious but revered Jedi Master, Qui Gon-Jinn. Of average height, with shoulder length golden ginger-colored hair and a full-fledged beard to match, Obi-Wan was not only handsome, but he had grown to be an especially skilled and powerful Jedi Master in the time since his beloved Qui Gon's passing. And in that difficult time, as the years passed, Obi-Wan was able to find comfort in Anakin, and vice versa. And as a result, Anakin and Obi-Wan had grown close, almost too close for their own good. As Master Kenobi looked upon his sleeping apprentice in the center of the Fountain Garden of the Temple, he took to one knee and allowed a generous helping of Anakin's soft brown hair to grace his fingertips. "Anakin...wake up, my Padawan learner." he came to whisper softly into Anakin's ear which his beard lightly tickled and aroused a twitch from the sleeping boy. Obi-Wan's request was met with a mumble and groan by Anakin as he flopped over to his left side. Obi-Wan inched closer to Anakin, and inched closer still until the tip of his nose was touching Skywalker's smooth but lean cheek. An innocent kiss followed, and then a warm hand against his shoulder. "Wake up...my Ani." Kenobi whispered again before planting another soft kiss on Anakin's cheek. Soon after, young Anakin came to a waking, but hazy state and sat up to address his Master.

"Morning, Master. Think you can keep up with me today?" grinned the brash Padawan as he stretched away the stiffness in his muscles. Anakin's cockiness came as no surprise to his Master, who had been the witness to many of Skywalker's grandiose accomplishments, even if he came off as arrogant nine times out of ten. But aside from this rather forceful characteristic, Obi-Wan knew Anakin to be a gentle and caring soul.

Master Kenobi crossed his arms as he sat on the floor and shook his head. "My young Padawan..." he said simply and laughed in his throat. It was followed by a long and deep gazing into Anakin's strong blue eyes. Compassion, mixed with the great intensity of a bottled up thunderstorm. He watched his Master moving closer to him, with that same deep, but passionate twinkle in his green eyes. "Master..." Anakin whispered softly just as Obi Wan's finger came to press softly against his lips, hushing him for a moment.

"Hush, my Ani. For right now I am merely Obi-Wan, just as you are merely Anakin...Nothing more." Their lips came to converge with each other in a sweet, hungry kiss that was so warm in its existence that it even seemed to make the sun rise and cascade the place of serenity in glorious beams of golden light. In that moment they were mere mortals, born of flesh and blood, sharing the one thing necessary in human life and yet ceased to exist for Jedi Knight. Love and affection knew no way into the heart of a Jedi Knight, nor did attachment or fear. And yet, as Anakin and Obi-Wan continued to sow the seeds of their growing love for each other, the hard and demanding life of a Jedi that was expected of them was all but non- existent in this moment. And soon afterwards, Anakin found himself wrapped in both Obi-Wan's arms and the warmth of his rich brown cloak. Obi-Wan closed his eyes for a moment to stretch out with his feelings and become one with the beatings of Anakin's heart against his chest. Surreal, it was no surprise to Obi-Wan that reality quickly interrupted and broke his tender moment with his Padawan. "We are needed at the Council, Anakin."

The Jedi High Council was held by twelve Jedi, all Masters, and was led by the revered and powerful Jedi Master Yoda. Mace Windu, a tall, bald and dark-skinned man, served as Yoda's right-hand man of sorts. And like Yoda, Mace was a strong wielder of the Force and one of the most accomplished Jedi Masters in the Council. His strength and skill in the Force was second only to Yoda himself. Calm and collected, Mace was the type of Jedi who was able to see all angles of a problem and exhaust all diplomatic options open to him before reverting to the authority of his lightsaber. The Council was the pinnacle of the Jedi Temple and the governing body of the Jedi Order. It was also the place where many a mission was assigned to Obi-Wan and Anakin. And in past instances, this trip to the Council was no different. Standing before the Council, Anakin and Obi-Wan stood side- by-side and at attention, as Yoda began to address them.

"Master Kenobi, troubled your Padawan is. See inside of him we can. Struggling he is. Conflicted. What have you to say, Obi-Wan?"

Obi-Wan shifted his weight from one foot to the other and cleared his throat, his hands warming from inside of the long, baggy sleeves of his cloak. Composed and briefly looking at Anakin out of the corner of his eye, Obi-Wan took a step forward. "His intentions are just, my Master. Conflict is natural for all Jedi. In time, he will learn to control it." Replied Obi-Wan in a Force-augmented voice. He could feel Anakin tense behind him, growing nervous. Be calm, my Ani. Ease your mind. Obi-Wan advised through the Force. Anakin's presence gradually grew calm, having been received by his Master's soothing wave of words.

Yoda shook his head, one of his long, green ears twitched as if trying to attune itself to some unseen signal. "Deal with this later, we will. New assignment I have for you. Senator Amidala of Naboo is on her way here to meet with Chancellor Palpatine. Someone after her, there is. Protect her and investigate this disturbance you must. Understand you, Master Kenobi?"

That name. While somewhere deep in the back of his mind, Obi-Wan felt a little confused as to who Senator Amidala was. But with eight years having gone by since the last time he seen her, Obi-Wan considered it to be somewhat of a miracle that a part of his brain still remembered her. So she was coming here to Coruscant. Naturally, Kenobi thought this unexpected visitor's trip here to be a mere figurehead to a more grand agenda. But then again, Obi-Wan was never exactly fond of any politician to begin with, including Senator Amidala, who seemed innocent but powerful enough to get him to hold his doubts about her. Bowing in acknowledgment of their new mission, Anakin and Obi-Wan dismissed from the Council.

While in the turbolift heading to the main chamber of the Temple, Anakin couldn't help but stare at the world outside. She was coming here. Big deal, he told himself as he turned to face his perplexed Master. Obi-Wan's arms seemed to come out of nowhere and spread like wings to captivate his Padawan, who was more than willing to surrender himself. They snuggled there against the back of the turbolift, their robes rubbing together in warm friction. Obi-Wan raised a hand to Anakin's cheek and cupped it with his palm.

"Yes Master?" the teenager asked willfully. His beautiful blue eyes glistened with sunlight.

"Anakin, be weary of the senator. Something...doesn't feel right." Kenobi advised and came to brush his lips against Anakin's cheek. His hands felt their way around Anakin's dark brown robes and black leather over-tunic, until finally coming to a stop against his waist. Stimulated by Obi-Wan's touch, Anakin murmured his concurring response and snuggled tighter against his Master's body. But with the open of the turbolifts automatic doors also came the divorcing of Anakin and Master Kenobi. And standing there to greet them was none other than Padme Amidala, dressed rather regally, her hair up in exotic braids, a smile on her face. Finally, the reunion with Anakin she longed for for so long was now reality.

Both Obi-Wan and his apprentice stepped into the room, happy to see Amidala after all these years. She had grown up to be a very beautiful and strong-willed woman who indeed held power in the political ranks, having been the Queen of Naboo at the tender age of fourteen. Her brown eyes and face were aglow with relish as Anakin came to bow in respect, just as his Master was returning to his full stature.. "It's so good to see you again, Master Kenobi." Then, she gently turned her head a little and looked up to address the flame that still burned in her heart. "It's been so long, Ani. Eight long years. Seeing you again brings peace to my heart." The senator's arms found their way around Anakin's waist. She snuggled there for a moment against his chest to drink in his familiar warmth, his ever- lasting comfort, and his intoxicating scent blended together with the smell of fine leather. He felt so good against her body, like a familiar blanket. But it was the gentle clearing of Obi-Wan's throat that finally made the senator let go of all she had longed for, and return to the serious matters at hand.

"My apologies, Master Kenobi." Amidala cleared her throat and laughed sheepishly, returning to her more professional demeanor. "An assassination attempt on me was carried out on Naboo some hours ago. And, fearing for my safety, my entourage and the Queen both advised that I should leave the area immediately. But it was only until we were halfway to a planet on the Outer-Rim that we were contacted by Jedi Master Yoda. He told us to come here to Coruscant, and that two Jedi Knights would be assigned to protect me and investigate this threat. He couldn't have picked greater people to carry out this mission."

Obi-Wan stepped forward, a serious look on his face - clearly of no surprise to his Padawan. "I can assure you that me and my apprentice will do everything we can to protect you, senator."

Padma blushed and briefly glanced at the carpeted floor, almost like she was embarrassed of Obi-Wan's sheer seriousness and the fact that he was talking to her like they had never met before. It was clear to her that this trip was strictly business to the weary young Master...but how much so to his headstrong Padawan? She looked up and smiled seductively at the tall teenager. "Just call me Padme, Obi- Wan." she murmured, never once taking her eyes off of Anakin. Oddly enough it was his voice that took her by surprise.

"Padme? We're to escort you to Chancellor Palpatine's chambers. We can't keep him waiting. Senator..."

Senator Amidala was escorted into Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's chambers. As always, he was quite glad to see Anakin Skywalker, whom he had developed quite a bond with over the years. But now, he knew, was not the time to make small talk with the maturing young man growing into a Jedi Knight before his eyes. Instead, he would be making small talk with the senator from Naboo for sometime. About what, however, Anakin nor Obi-Wan were unsure of. Covert operation wasn't in their mission. Protection, escorting, and investigation was all they were told to do. Quietly, they walked from Palpatine's chambers and walked silently down the long corridor to discuss their next plan of action.

Anakin and Obi-Wan had spent many a time inside of Kenobi's quarters inside the Temple. And over the years, it had grown to be like a second home to Anakin. There he sat cross-legged on Obi-Wan's bed, his Master sitting comfortably at his desk, a datapad in his hand, his lightsaber laying unattended next to his arm. He was researching something, perhaps the last known whereabouts of Padme's suspected assassin, and every now and then tugged at his beard like the intellectual he was. "Master?" asked Anakin as he swayed from side to side on Obi-Wan's bed.

Kenobi looked up from the blue screen of the datapad. "Yes, Anakin?" he replied. Skywalker's lips pressed tightly together, then turned into a concerned frown.

"I couldn't help but notice when we met with Padme the way she was acting around me." he expressed and begun to nervously nibble at the inside of his mouth. Obi-Wan approached his concerned Padawan and sat down next to him on his bed. His warm, strong hand came to rest against Anakin's thigh.

"Be mindful, my young apprentice." a soft kiss to Anakin's earlobe followed. "Keep your focus on the bigger picture. Do not be consumed by her ways." then, he nibbled at it rather intently, with his arm comfortably around Anakin's broad shoulders. Skywalker caught his Master's hand in his own and leaned in to return the gesture of affection.

"Yes, Master..." he mumbled and felt his whole weight falling into the arms of Obi-Wan as they fell to the comfort of his bed.

There, Anakin looked upon his Master with curious eyes, his boyhood innocence still shined brightly in them after all these years. Obi-Wan's face came to brush against Anakin's cheek, his beard bit at his smooth skin. "Stay," he whispered into his Master's ear and kissed it. "I don't want you to go."

Master Kenobi looked deep into those blue eyes and nuzzled his nose against Anakin's. "I won't be going anytime soon, my Ani. After all, I live here." he giggled and began feeling his way around the bulkiness of Anakin's tunics. The pinch of laughter was returned as Anakin came to claim Kenobi's lips with that same beautiful innocence of his childhood self. Like magnets, their hands joined and firmly held each other. Anakin pushed forward eagerly with the plunging of his tongue into Obi-Wan's mouth. Obi-Wan also pushed forward, deeply, against Anakin's body. And if not for the many layers of fabric, they would be able to feel the heat of their groins touching in eager anticipation. Anakin took a deep breath in between kisses, adjusting himself; the grip he had around Obi-Wan's hand loosened; his hand was now pressed against the inside of one of Anakin's thighs.

Obi-Wan swallowed hard, never thinking Anakin to be so straight- forward. Quietly, he admired both the sound of Anakin's breathing and the feel of smooth cloth and flesh beneath his fingers. Unknowingly, Obi-Wan sensed his other hand caressing the tight buttocks of his Padawan. His groin began to throb as his hand traveled upward against Anakin's thigh, his breathing growing faster by the second. "Anakin...I..." Kenobi whispered, the palm of his hand pushing against Anakin's groin. Trembling, yearning to be free. Obi- Wan nearly licked his lips at the thought. And Anakin was already halfway to ecstacy as Obi-Wan held him and teased him, when an automated holomessage suddenly stifled any thoughts of sexual gratification.

Sith! It was a word shared with equal frustrated intensity by both Anakin and Obi-Wan.

"Master Kenobi. I have finished the meeting with Senator Amidala. She is waiting for you in the Galactic Senate Hall and wishes to speak with you and your apprentice. She has some...important matters to discuss with the both of you."

Chancellor Palpatine. Always knew the most inappropriate moments to make an interruption. Anakin crunched his teeth together in frustration and came to dismount from Obi-Wan's body. It would have to wait. It was always that way. He felt like he was always waiting. Waiting for this, waiting for that. All the waiting had started to wear on his patience and Obi-Wan knew it. "Relax, Anakin. Be mindful of your feelings. We must do as we are told. That is the way of the Force, my young Padawan." Obi-Wan's ability to calm Anakin's nerves never ceased to amaze the boy. It seemed like Kenobi had something calming to say about everything that was troubling him, a lesson the young Master had picked up from his own when he was just a Padawan.

"Okay. But." Anakin stumbled.

"No. No buts Anakin. Clear your mind. We must do as we're told." Soon afterward, Anakin and Obi-Wan left the security of the Temple and boarded a local transport to the Galactic Senate building to meet with their mission at hand.

Padme had been awaiting their arrival there on the large, wide promenade to the Galactic Senate, her home away from home. And Obi- Wan and Anakin weren't a moment too soon, right on time to be exact. Typical of such professionals like themselves. Again, they bowed lightly in respect to the senator and were then kindly led inside. "You wanted to see us senator?" Obi-Wan asked.

A smile tugged at Padme's lips. "Just call me Padme, Master Kenobi." she said softly. Obi-Wan crossed his arms as Anakin stood by his side. "Yes. Well, my reasons for wanting to see you both were actually in concerns to your apprentice. It's been so long since we seen each other and, with your permission, I'd like to try and catch up on things." Padme explained without a sliver of guilt in her voice.

Obi-Wan nearly had to pick his jaw up off the floor; his apprentice could only raise an eyebrow. "Let me get this straight...Padme. You wanted to meet with us just so you could play catch up with Anakin? Do forgive me for imposing but...this isn't the kind of important business we expected..."

"What are you talking about? What important business?" Padme replied, apparently not having heard of Palpatine's message.

Anakin stepped forward. "Chancellor Palpatine told us of some important business you wanted to discuss with us. We thought it was something in every sense of the word." he said, expressing the same confusion of his Master.

"Well, I'm sorry. This was all you were called here for. Master Kenobi?" Padme prodded insistently.

Kenobi crossed his arms. "I'm afraid I can't pass judgement at this time, senator." he concluded with authority. With that, Master and apprentice escorted the senator out of the building and into the transport that awaited them.

Later that night, it was brought to Obi-Wan's attention that he and Anakin were to keep watch over Padme all-night just in case trouble should arise while she slept. If it was anything Anakin loathed more than sand, it was guard duty. So dreadfully boring to a boy his age, especially since he had gotten so used to always being on the run with his Master. "Well," Anakin sighed and slumped down on a nearby sofa, "there went any chance of me getting my daily speeder run through the underbelly."

"Yes well, if you would spend as much time on your saber skills as you do racing, you would be on par with Master Yoda, my young apprentice." scolded Obi-Wan with a mused laugh and smile.

"Hey - I'm getting better, even Master Yoda thinks so. Besides, this isn't exactly what I pictured when Master Yoda told us of Padme's arrival. I mean, just sitting here? It's boring, Master. Just because we're Jedi, doesn't mean we don't have body clocks that need their rest." Anakin's choice of words humored his Master as he came to sit next to his Padawan.

"Body clocks?....You could say that, yes. Anakin, I can sense your exhaustion. You are still maturing as a Jedi and need your rest. I will keep watch tonight. Ease your mind and sleep. Here, next to me, Padawan." he offered kindly and scooted down to the other side of the sofa, offering Anakin a place to crash for the night ahead. Anakin yawned as his head came to rest on Obi-Wan's lap and his cloak covered his lanky body. Obi-Wan looked down at his snug apprentice and ran his fingers through his hair then lowered his head to Anakin's forehead to kiss it.

"Will you be alright Master?" asked Anakin with hazy eyes.

"Yes. Goodnight." Kenobi whispered. Slowly, Anakin's eyes closed as sleep came to greet him. Tonight, however, would be filled with nothing but calm for he was in the company of the one person, other than his mother, who made him feel safe and warm. He knew everything would be all right tonight.
