Thank Yous: sheepish grin to be honest I've lost count how many people I ran this one by. I know Lil, Holly and Kry, and Kim thanks for looking at it.

Disclaimer: insert witty remark here gee, they're not mine and for me they reap no profit. ;-) I don't know about you, but I'm not surprised by that.

As the transport cut through the busy Coruscant sky, Padawan Jonis watched as the handful of initiates he was charged to escort to the Harmonian Gardens fidgeted restlessly in their seats.

They were over half way to the Gardens when the Padawan told the children, "If you're careful you can look around." They had just jumped from their seats when he added, "And no running."

"Yes, Padawan Jonis," the initiate chorused.

The young man allowed a brief smile. "That's better. Be back here in time for debarking, all right?"

Again the children replied together, "Yes, Padawan Jonis."

Before the teacher had the chance to change his mind, the children left the room to wonder down the empty corridors. Since the Jedi had contracted the transport for the initiates to travel to the Harmonian festival that day, there were very few other passengers on board.

"Hey, Obi," Bant said once they were out of earshot from Padawan Jonis. "Let's check out the Observation Deck."

Obi-Wan thought about it for a moment. "Are you sure we should be up there?"

The girl rolled her eyes and grinned at the boy. "Padawan Jonis said no running." She paused for dramatic effect, shrugging her shoulders. "So we'll walk to the Observation Deck."

Although he hesitated, a grin broke on the boy's face. "Okay. Any idea which way?"

"Come on, this way," she said, pointing over her shoulder.

Several moments later, the two children climbed up onto the empty Observation Deck, easily bypassing a sign warning against being outside on the level during flight. The wind whipped around the metal transport, making it impossible for Obi-Wan and Bant to hear each other.

"Wow," Obi-Wan said, his eyes wide as he looked at the speeding surface below them.

Bant grinned, tugging on Obi-Wan's arm as she walked toward the railing.

Caught up in the excitement of their exploration, Obi-Wan followed. When they reached the edge, Bant grabbed a hold of the rail. However, before Obi-Wan had a chance, a sudden burst of wind pulled his feet out from under him.

"Obi!" Bant screamed, the sound echoing faintly on the wind as she tried to grab her friend and failed.

The girl's wide eyes locked with those of her friend's right before he slipped over the edge of the platform.

"No! Obi!" she cried, fear locking her hands to the rail as tears filled her eyes.

Then just as suddenly as he disappeared over the rail, Bant watched as he appeared to float back over it. Bant didn't blink as she watched her friend came to rest on his feet on the platform.

She rushed over to him as quickly as she could and not lose her balance, before either noticed the man walking out of the shadows. The two children turned to look at the dark-haired man who merely glanced at the children, un-recognizing, and nodded before pulling his hood up and walking away.

Careful to hold onto the rail and each other, the two children climbed back down into the main hallway.

Once inside, Bant pulled Obi-Wan into a tight hug. "I thought you were gone."

Blinking slowly, Obi-Wan looked at Bant. "I did too."

"What happened?" she asked, pulling away and blinking the moisture from her eyes.

Obi-Wan shook his head, trying to think. "I felt like I was falling, and I called out for help. Then I was floating."

A flicker of movement down the hall, and the two children saw the back of the mysterious man's cloak as he disappeared through a far door.

"I think he saved me."

Bant watched the empty hallway for a moment before asking, "Who was he? Do you know him?"

Obi-Wan shook his head, "Huh-uh."

"I've never seen him before, but he must be a Jedi," Bant said.

Nodding, Obi-Wan stared after the man. "I wonder why he left so quick?"

Bant shrugged, pulling Obi-Wan's attention back to her. "I'm just glad you're okay," she replied in a shaky whisper before giving him another hug. "If you'd have . . . It would have been all my fault."

After returning the hug, Obi-Wan managed a grin. "We've still got a little while. I wonder if they have Pandrenian chocolate in the dining hall?" Obi-Wan asked, naming Bant's favorite desert.

Taking Obi-Wan's hand, Bant grinned. "Let's go find out."
