Summary: Obi-Wan tries to convince his love to ignore the world and enjoy a few extra hours of sleep... to the tune of Jack Johnson's song, Banana Pancakes

Author's Note: This is my first fic EVER. Now aren't all of you excited? I heard this song and I just couldn't get the image of them out of my head. Scary, I know.

Qui-Gon Jinn took a deep breath of air into his lungs and sighed contentedly. He opened his eyes and looked into the still dark room. A glance out the window to his room revealed clouds waiting to burst with rain. No sooner had he thought it, the heavens opened up and it began pouring. *Well there goes my meditation on the balcony. I'll just have to do them in the living room* As he moved to get up, his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had been using his chest as a pillow, let out a noise of protest. He mumbled something into his chest and wrapped his right arm tighter around Qui-Gon's waist. A fond smile graced his lips as he lightly pressed at Obi-Wan's arm.

"I must get up, my own. I have duties I must attend." Obi-Wan lifted his head, took one look outside, put his head back down and snuggled closer.

Can't you see that it's just rainin'
There ain't no need to go outside

"Mmm but it's raining outside." He breathed in his master's scent and sighed happily. Qui-Gon petted his hair while softly stroking his back.

"But we have so many things to do today. You have work for your classes. I have mission reports to file." Obi-Wan, who was purring under his lover's ministrations, lifted his head again and started singing,

"But baby, you hardly even notice
When I try to show you
this song It's meant to keep you
From doin' what you're supposed to
Like wakin' up too early
Maybe we could sleep in
I'll make you banana pancakes
Pretend like it's the weekend now"

Qui-Gon smiled brightly and kissed him on the lips.

"Where did you learn that?" Obi-Wan just shrugged and lay back down. The sheets were so warm, and it was so frightful outside. He couldn't understand what Qui-Gon had to do that was so important at 5 in the morning. No one would miss him for another few hours. Plus they were between missions. With their busy schedule, they deserved some extra sleep.

"Just stay in bed with me, your love. Don't you want to cuddle just a little longer? Even though I know there's nothing you'd like better than to write thrilling mission reports, consider this a favor for your poor, over-worked padawan." He fixed Qui-Gon "the eyes." Qui-Gon merely sighed as he stared down at his pouty lover. He opened his mouth to concede the fight (how could he with those eyes boring straight through to his soul?) when the comm went off.

Obi-Wan groaned and said, "Ugh, don't even think about answering that!"

Qui-Gon smiled in amusement and said, "It could be someone important!

"There's nothing more important than this bed right now." And with that, he shut off all communication devices with reach. He started humming the rest of the song through the bond:

The telephone singing, ringing, it's too early
Don't pick it up
We don't need to
We got everything we need right here
And everything we need is enough
It's just so easy
When the whole world fits inside of your arms

My whole world is you, Obi-Love. I must be the luckiest man in the universe to have you in my arms each night. Qui-Gon placed a tender kiss upon the top of his head.

As you are my world and my guide light. Now is not the time for our worlds to be waking up. We should do more holding, less waking. Obi-Wan tightened his grip on his master and twined their legs closer together.

How can I resist? I haven't been able to win in 9 years. He gently teased.

It's because I've perfected the "pity the poor padawan" look. Works every time. Plus you know you love me. He fixed him with a smug look.

'Tis true, I do. With all my heart and all my soul. I love you Obi-Wan Kenobi.

And I you Qui-Gon Jinn.

I seem to recall something about banana pancakes... Obi-Wan grinned up at him.

I promise you a huge plate later on if we can lay here awhile. he fixed his lover "the eyes."

I think we can manage a few extra hours... Obi-Wan smiled triumphantly.

I knew there was a reason I loved you. Qui-Gon laughed and placed a kiss upon his forehead and settled back down for some extra sleep with his love.

Because I love to lay here lazy
We could close the curtains
Pretend like there's no world outside
And we could pretend that all the time

Can't you see that it's just raining
There ain't no need to go outside
Can't you see, can't you see
We've got to wake up slow

~The End~

Banana Pancakes – Jack Johnson

Can't you see that it's just rainin'
There ain't no need to go outside

But baby, you hardly even notice
When I try to show you
this song It's meant to keep you
From doin' what you're supposed to
Like wakin' up too early
Maybe we could sleep in
I'll make you banana pancakes
Pretend like it's the weekend now

And we could pretend it all the time
Can't you see that it's just rainin'
There ain't no need to go outside

But just maybe, hala ka ukulele
Mama made a baby
I really don't mind the practice
Because you're my little lady
Lady, lady love me

Because I love to lay here lazy
We could close the curtains

Pretend like there's no world outside
And we could pretend that all the time
Can't you see that it's just raining
There ain't no need to go outside

Ain't no need, ain't no need
Can't you see, can't you see

Rain all day and I don't mind

The telephone singing, ringing, it's too early
Don't pick it up
We don't need to
We got everything we need right here
And everything we need is enough
It's just so easy
When the whole world fits inside of your arms

Do we really need to pay attention to the alarm
Wake up slow, wake up slow

But baby, you hardly even notice
When I try to show you this song
It's meant to keep you
From doin' what your supposed to
Like wakin' up too early
Maybe we could sleep in

I'll make you banana pancakes

Pretend like it's the weekend now
And we could pretend it all the time
Can't you see that it's just rainin'
There ain't no need to go outside

Ain't no need, ain't no need
Rain all day and I really, really, really don't mind
Can't you see, can't you see

We've got to wake up slow
