Unseen by all he stood and watched over his beloved, who was, thankfully, asleep. By day, the force kept him hidden from his beloved but night was his time. He stood quietly still, not moving even though any movement he made would not be noticed by the other man. The man was laying on the couch in the living room where he had been working. His padawan had left him much earlier with his blessing to seek the sleep he so badly needed.

How many missions had he been through since he'd been able to get a good nights rest? The silent watcher had gone on each one watching as his beloved grown more and more weary. It took him this long to give out. The watcher moved closer to the young man. Maybe not to young any more but that was how he looked when he slept. Young and innocent.

The man shivered in his sleep. Cold? The watcher looked for something to fix this problem. The man's cloak. He carefully picked it up and laid it over the man, tucking it under his chin. Slowly the watcher ran his finger over the cleft in the man's chin. To himself he wished silently for more time, for any time. But he knew it was not to be. His beloved was in good hands. The Force would care of him. Leaning over the couch, and kisses him softly on the forehead. "Good bye Knight Obi-Wan. May the Force be with you." The blue presence of Qui-Gon turned and disappeared.

"MASTER!!" Obi-Wan sat up, totally awake. He looked around the room quickly but sees nothing. Shuts his eyes and wipes the single tear that was going to fall. Places his other hand on his forehead and sighs. "Good bye Master."
