Note: Once more, love and thanks Master Cuimne, for giving this the once-over.

Now you know I am not one to gossip. Well, none of us are, are we? It just isn't the done thing for Jedi to take pleasure from sensational, unsubstantiated chat.

However, we are still all normal beings with normal curiosities and drives under that outward Jedi appearance.

(Yes, I'd love another glass, thank you dear.)

And it is only natural that I should notice, well, liaisons. Close liaisons. You know what I mean, don't you dear? And I hear people talking sometimes, about whom they have seen together. On more than one occasion. Frequently. In purely non-professional circumstances.

I mean, take for example young Knight Draema Fe-hal. She is such a pretty little thing, isn't she? Lovely eyes, I always thought. Well, apparently she has been spending most of her time in the Temple with a certain older knight - Kelme. Perhaps you know him? Tall, Wroonian, very fine. Yes! I know! Never out of each other's company, those two. They make a lovely couple - don't be surprised if there's an announcement soon.

But the thing is, he had been very close to Tig Sam Chi. You know, the usual thing. They had been padawans together, grew up side by side, seemed very happy. But now, off with the sweet little Draema and hardly ever sees Tig even for sparring matches or anything!

Tig? Oh, he's alright. Hardly the heartbroken, spurned lover. It didn't take him long to get over it. Yes, he has been seen with many different partners since then, when he is back here, which isn't often. A different one every time, so I hear. Who? Oh, I couldn't possible divulge. Well, strictly between you and me, there was Daria, and also Euphyria. Yes I know! Sisters! No, not at the same time.

(Oh yes, my glass is empty again. Just a little one this time. You are so kind.)

Where was I? I will tell you one person that I would really like to know more about, though. Young Padawan Kenobi. Ah, you know him I see. Quite famous, isn't he? Beautiful creature - those eyes, so intense, hair like sunset on Selonia. Yes, I know. The walk.

Well, if you ever hear anything about that one in the, ahem, personal department, I would be very glad to know. No. Nothing. Never a whisper. He is utterly and completely dedicated to his training. Spends all his time at either physical training, meditating or studying.

Or with his master. Mmm. Jinn. I know, isn't he?

What? No, nothing on him either. A perfect pair, those two.

Well, I did hear that a long time ago the master was known for his relationships. Ah yes, quite a Don Juan, that one was in his day. Of course, it was a long time ago. He is the very image of Jedi serenity now. Yes yes, as it should be.

But the padawan. Even though he has such a master as an example, you would think he would join in the games with the other padawans, wouldn't you? Changing rooms in the middle of the night - it still goes on. Always has and always will, no doubt. And some of the little rascals don't confine themselves to the padawan floors. I know of at least two who have been known to creep into the knights' quarters once or twice in the night! I agree. Absolutely shocking.

Kenobi? No, he is not one of them. He is a complete blank. None of my sources have ever had anything to report on him. Such a waste, don't you think? He has time enough for all that "serenity" stuff when he is as old as Master Jinn.

(Oh go on then, just one more. It is very good - you must tell me where you got it.)

Always together, that master and padawan. They never give each other time to follow any other dalliances. Why, I know that Kenobi even often spends the night in the master's quarters, going over mission briefings or joint meditating or some such. Yes, frequently. I have seen him myself leaving there early in the morning, looking exhausted, poor thing. The master must have kept him going all night.

You know, I am even thinking of speaking to my good friend on the council about those two. It can't be good for the boy to be so single-minded all the time.

You have noticed too? I bet everyone has. I mean, it is not as if he is short of offers. I think every compatible being in the Temple has approached luscious Obi-Wan at some time. You too? Mmm. Well, I suppose it takes the sting out of being rejected if you know that that's how he treats every offer. So polite, impeccable manners, hates to hurt anyone's feelings, but not a chance.

Very sad. Very single-minded. No, I don't suppose it is a bad thing, for a Jedi. He will make a fine knight. Oooo, you are awful! But I agree, he would make a fine pleasure boy too!

(No, really, I shouldn't have any more. I have had rather too much already.)

I will tell you one thing though. I know this won't go any further. Well, our handsome, serene Master Jinn might not be as aloof as everybody thought. Wait till I tell you - only the day before yesterday, I was taking my usual morning stroll to the gardens, via the upper levels... I know it's not a particularly direct route, but it does take me through both the padawan and knights' halls, and you never know whom you are going to meet at that time in the morning.

Well this particular morning, apart from the usual comings and goings I won't bore you with just now, I noticed said master leaving his padawan's room. He must have kept the poor young man hard at it all night! I think it is almost padawan-abuse, the way he drives him.

Anyway, that is not the point. What I did see was a particularly noticeable love mark on the neck of Master Serenity himself!

So where did that come from, do you think? He must have found time between slave-driving his padawan to form an association of sorts with someone, but who? It's driving me mad.

If you hear anything, let me know. Oh yes, of course I will too. It is a mystery. What? Force around us, you can't be serious! His own padawan? No, even I can't go for that. It's unheard of. Well, you should keep your idle speculation to yourself. I'm sorry, but that's how I feel. Trivial gossip like that can become malicious scandal that causes harm to everyone involved. I don't think you should lower yourself to such demeaning levels. Yes, I'm leaving. I won't tell anyone about your partiality for salacious tittle-tattle, don't worry. I'm not one to gossip. As you know.
