Fool's Hill

by Stone, Lord of Sith

Category: Poetry

Rating: PG

Archive: MA and anyone who wants it

Summary: Obi-Wan after the pyre

Disclaimer: Who? Oh, you mean GL? Blessed be the man for presenting us with SW, for he has given us much to play with. No money.

Notes: I know that the title, Fool's Hill, has already been used by someone else, a pro author. Was it W. Goldmann? Golding? I don't remember. But, alas, as Mr. Nameless isn't likely to be in here, I don't think he'd mind.

Dedication: For Sully. Somehow, old friend, I can't get you out of my head these days. Sweet dreams baby

"Fool's Hill"

Welcome to Painsville
population: one
One hopeless dreamer
soon to be gone
Your age
my rage
never needed anyone to tell the truth
Tell me I'm still dreaming
Tell me I'm not alone
I went looking for you at the stop sign
hand me some love
throw me a lifeline
My babysteps in life passed every gate
I can still feel you hovering near
tell me it's not too late
Will you have changed profoundly
by the time I'm near?
Sometimes I seem half-dead
but that's not what I fear:
all the pain in this world
won't save me from myself
Someone went looking for love
but found something else
Tell me the knife's edge is keen
tell me where to cut
All my tender spots are scarred
all veins open but there's no blood
Have you changed?
Are you still the same?
Will you come to me
when there's no one else to blame?
Welcome to Painsville
population: two
And someone passing Fool's Hill
can find us there, too
