Summary: Xanatos answers a question and describes the creation of a Sith Lord.

Disclaimer: George is the Master -- I am but a Padawan.

Notes: This just popped in my warped head after I wrote the Challenge Response. Rita wanted to know more about these two. Not beta'd.

As always, this is for my Master and my Clan.

They say the Sith are nothing more than creatures of, and for the Dark. They are wrong.

No one is ever totally Dark or light.

Sith can love, feel passion, trust, loyalty hatred, and yes, even compassion.

I feel those things and more.

I look at my lover, Apprentice, partner -- my, Ben. He is beautiful awake. Asleep, he looks like an angel -- a fallen angel.

He was thirteen when we met.

I saw this lovely boy, so strong in the Force. Yet, his self confidence was destroyed. He was being shipped to the Agricorps. The same Order and moreover, the same Master was destroying this boy as they had tried to do to me.

The Jedi and Qui-Gon Jinn, bastards. How I loath them. Emotionally castrated monks.

I reached out to Ben. I gave him the things Qui and the Order wouldn't -- respect, caring, and knowledge. We agreed, if the Jedi came for him, he would go. I would be his true Master.

The one I never thought to see came. He rejected my Ben, again.

He then, grudgingly, accepted him.

I let Ben go.

We met many times over the next years. He never wavered on our commitment.

I felt him falling into the same hot/cold relationship I had, with my former Master. They had become lovers.

He never forgot me.

I felt his pain when everything finally fell apart. Qui-Gon's final rejection.

Ben could have saved him on Naboo. He has that much power. In that one moment, Ben ceased to be Obi- Wan Kenobi, he became Darth Shard. Brilliant, sharp, beautiful, and deadly.

I did not create Darth Shard. Thoughtless actions, uncaring and cruel words did that. Thank you, Qui-Gon.

Shard gave the slave over to Sideous as repayment for Maul.

He took his place, by my side.

My Ben, is everything to me.

He told me of his meditations. I have an answer to his question: Was it worth it?

Yes.

End.
