The wind howled outside his room window. Carefully through the darkness, Obi-Wan got up from his bed and stood by the window. After seeing his Master fight in such bravery struck a new feeling in his mind.

A strange feeling, an odd feeling. He had just reached the age were everyone was experimenting, finding who they were. It seems the person who would end his relentless journey of finding himself, was right under his nose for the past six years.

He was not sure that Qui-Gon would agree, non the less would approve of such behavior. He could not bear the pain or oddness that he would get whenever he was near him. What would he do? What could he do? He wouldn't dare break the bonding ties between them he had worked so hard to form. Unless Qui-Gon would make the first move. Unless...

The next day was another meeting with the council This time they wanted Obi-Wan to join Qui-Gon. The awkwardness grew as he watched Qui-Gon methodically eat the mid-moring meal in front of him.

Qui-Gon sensed the strange behavior of his padawan.

"What is the matter Padawan? you seem distrubed."

"Oh it's nothing.." Obi-Wan said, he looked down at his plate, trying to hide his already bright red face.

"Obi-Wan," Qui-Gon made his name sound so beautiful, "I sense there is something troubling you."

Obi-Wan looked up, he saw Qui-Gon's eyes studing his features of his face. He couldn't tell him what was really bothering him, nor could he put an excuse into words.

The council is intimidating. Normally whenever they ask me to join I'm in trouble of some sort Obi-Wan said in his mind.

The council does not want to punish you Obi-Wan Qui-Gon said reasurringly. They just want to know why you seem to act like you want to jump me.

Obi-Wan could not keep the shock off his face. He knew he couldn't keep the secret from him.

I'd like you to know i don't disapprove of that behavior. And that i was waiting for the right moment to tell you Qui-Gon looked at him with one of his rare smiles.

"You.. You .. do?" Obi-Wan stammered.

Qui-Gon simply nodded. He stood up and re-situated himself next to Obi-Wan on the other side of the bench. He was sitting at a distance that made Obi-Wan uncomfortable and a sense of warmth at the same time.

"But what about the Council? They would most likely forbid such..." Obi-Wan's gaze met his Master's.

"Have I ever followed the Council's wishes?" Qui-Gon asked.

"No."

"Well, there you go." Qui-Gon said, smiling again.

Obi-Wan did not expect the sudden jolt of the Force beaming from Qui-Gon. He [Qui-Gon] leaned in, the cold lips first surprised Obi-Wan, until he realized he wasn't alone. He hadn't broken the Bonding Ties.

end..
