Advice to a young Padawan

by Elizabeth Abernethy

Heed my words,young Padawan
or not you will live long.
You must mind well
what your Master to you will tell.

He will instruct you
to guard your emotions well, young one.
Listen to someone
older and wiser, with more experience.
He will teach you many things.
Be mindful of the living Force
and beware that not all is as it seems.
Be careful of your dreams.
And of course,
always respectful be
to those, better, wiser and in authority.

Be ever vigilant,
to the Darkside never relent.
For if to the Darkside you yield
you will loose more than you shield.
You may have to pay the ultimate price,
your Master's or you own life.

A Jedi lives to help and serve.
His loyalty must never swerve
for he is the defense of all good and right.
He is the one that must stand and fight
against the Dark and evil.

Should all the Jedi fall,
hope will be lost.
It is a terrible cost
for power.
Jedi must remain till the last hour.

For now, no one can tell.
Which is just as well.
Heed your peers,
Padawan
and your Master
whom you will come after.
Now,I'm out of here.
